Winter, White & Wicked is a fresh take on the classic YA quest-trope, with most of the story taking place within the cab of a ice-rig! Add in a kickass driver & a trio of misfits, exciting magic & an icy setting, & you’ve got yourself a winner. I genuinely could have stayed on this journey for days longer than I did & I’m super excited about where the series is going!
I was sent a copy a copy of this book via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
⚠️ This book contains addition, violence, torture, murder, kidnap, gun use, fighting/killing animals (wolves), a form of slavery & death of family members. There is also one scene including, & a few passages describing of the memory of, an attempted rape of a child, which her guardian allows. ⚠️
Nemesis & the Swan caught my attention because of the cover & when I read that it was set in historical France (mainly Paris) I just had to read it! Hélène’s story was incredibly emotional but the book was still a relaxing read, something that I needed at the time. This book is written really well & it completely consumed me.
I received a digital copy of this book via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
⚠️ This book contains sexism, a small amount of racism, classism, scenes of a sexual nature, sexual assault, domestic violence, attempted suicide, murder, hangings, arson, riots, gun use, mental health conditions & death of a child (referred to in a memory) ⚠️
The cover of this book is what dragged me in – I mean, it’s stunning!! but the plot was what lead to me reading most of the book in one sitting on a Saturday. Trapeze was not the story I was expecting, & it did have some strong romance vibes, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.
