Friendship Guest Post #3
This is the third instalment of my mini series of guest posts on how friendship can be affected by being sick; during the first post Megz wrote about how her type 2 bipolar disorder has affected her friendships throughout her life & last week Roxanne spoke about how her friendships have been affected by her generalised anxiety. This week Angela‘s post will be about how her collection of illness affects the ways she is able to socialise & how they affect her friendships.
This post is a day late as I was super sleepy all weekend & yesterday; ironically the reason I was so worn out was because of the topic of today’s post! On Friday, myself & fellow Spoonie (& good friend of mine) Emma (who you can find over at elcscience) went to our local hydrotherapy pool & had a fabulous time, so I thought I’d write about it on here!
This week I want to talk about another one of my conditions, Fibromyalgia! Fibromyalgia seems to be the most common condition I’ve got, as I see a lot of people talking about their struggles with it on Twitter… For me, this diagnosis was one of those ones that makes you realise that things about you that you thought were normal, actually aren’t so “normal”.
Exams & Disability
Exam season isn’t easy for anyone, but I’m more than confident when I say that exam season is at least 10x worse for those of us with disabilities; as I have just sat possibly my last ever academic exams I thought I would write a post about how exam season affects me personally.
Better You Magnesium Original Flakes
A member of one of the syringomyelia Facebook pages that I’m a part of posted a few weeks ago, telling us all about a new bath product she had tried. Better You Magnesium Original Flakes claim to “aid in skin and bone health and relief from muscle stiffness and cramping” so I thought I would give them a go.
My Neurological Fight
I’m sure I’ll eventually use my blog to do rants about my various illnesses so I thought it would make sense to write a couple of pieces that briefly tell the different stories of what I’ve been through since I was 16! I’m not great at remembering dates but I’ll try to make it as accurate as possible.
Shaving. That thing that 90% of the population HATE doing. But I can promise you, doing it when you’re broken is a whole new world of hate. I was in the shower, washing my hair yano ‘normal’ shower activities and when I bent down to start shaving my legs something hit me (probably a confused nerve sending a random message to the brain, but on this occasion that’s okay) – it really fkin hurts to shave your legs when you’re a #spoonie.
