It seems only logical that one of my first posts of 2018 is one that gives a shout-out to all of my favourite reads of 2017; when I first decided I was going to do this post I thought I would only include 10 books, but as it turns out there are 20 books that I just have to put on this list. Despite probably being able to comfortably say which books are my top 3 reads of the year, I’ve decided to list the books in order of author names just so I don’t get stressed out trying to decide where each would go on a chronological list of enjoyment.
Well then, that was emotional. I cried twice and both times for the same characters. The UnLeashed was full of plot-twists and exciting scenes, despite moving at a slightly slower pace than the first book did.
Disclaimer: I received an eARC of this book from the author in return for an honest review!

Pretty much as soon as I started reading I fell in love with this book. The world it’s set in holds a lot of similarities with the world of Sally Green’s Half Life books, which I adored, and thankfully I adored this book as well. Due to the similarities with Sally Green’s books I can’t say the plot was totally original but the two plots are still reasonably different despite their similarities… basically, it didn’t end up feeling like I was reading the same story with different characters. Which is good.
