Bookish Nails: Belle Révolte

A photo of my hand held up in front of Belle Revolte; my nails have a French manicure look with a pink base & a gold tip with glitter!Earlier today my review of Belle Révolte went live, which you can find here & I loved the book, & its cover, so much that I just had to do a #BookishNails look for it – what do you think?

This was my first time doing a French nail type thing so it was a game of trial & error; the pink needed a few layers to cover properly, which was kinda’ annoying, so it wasn’t as neat as I would have liked but I was still quite happy with them in the end! I felt like the pink matched the colour on the cover really well too which I was super excited about, & then I did a gold, glittery tip to finish it off – I was really impressed with the gold actually & would definitely recommend it! For a finishing touch, I also had little fleur du lys on my thumbs which I #thought were super cute.

The varnishes I used are listed below with affiliate links for Amazon:

  • Pink: Barry M Nail Paint Bubblegum (920) (Amazon.co.uk)
  • Gold: Models Own Chrome Gold (NP238) (discontinued)
  • Glitter: Seventeen Nail Colour Winter Coat (discontinued)
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dry (Amazon.co.uk)

Bookish Nails: Doctor Who

img_6133As I recently discovered a nail varnish that is a stunning TARDIS blue I just had to do a #BookishNails recommendation! The colour of this varnish is actually called Sonic Blue, instead of TARDIS blue, but there’s absolutely NO freakin’ way that that’s just a coincidence because it’s definitely the colour of the TARDIS (but obviously they can’t call it that). The varnish is by COLLECTION as part of the 7 Day Wear line, & is number 23; I only needed two coats for this colour to look great & I’m really happy with its durability. As always, I used Nail Growth Miracle as a base coat & an Insta-Dry top coat (both by Sally Hansen). I love this colour & it’s definitely one of my favourites.

Bookish Nails: The Veiled Duchess

Nail Varnish PhotographFor my first #BookishNails post I chose The Veiled Duchess & Wine Stock (480) Miracle Gel (no light needed) by Sally Hansen. I chose this nail colour as it is incredibly similar to the sails on The Duchess from Sophia Menesini’s fantastic pirate series & I loved having a part of this story with me every where I went. This nail colour goes on really well with only two coats & I used Nail Growth Miracle base coat with Insta-Dry top coat, both of which are by Sally Hansen. I love this colour a lot & definitely recommend it.
