Deeplight came to me through the post as a surprise; I fell in love with the proof cover but was unsure if I would enjoy the story as it didn’t sound like my usual kind of read… well, I was very, very wrong. I was completely hooked on this book & couldn’t stop thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it. I can’t wait to read more of Frances’ work!
I was sent this book by the publisher in return for an honest review.
⚠️ This book contains violence & discussions & phobias of drowning ⚠️
November was an exceptional reading month; I finished 10 books & with an average 4.4 star rating so I got to explore some fantastic stories. As the year is coming to an end, I can firmly say this year has been one of the, if not the, worst year of my life, however I have read some amazing books & for that I am very grateful.
I went into Jupiter’s Fire with mixed expectations; the synopsis convinced me to give the story a try, but I’m one of those annoying readers who always judges a book by it’s cover – & I didn’t like this cover. I really enjoyed the story though, so I guess I need to stop being so judgemental of aesthetics, lol.
I was sent this book to review as part of a blog tour organised by Rachel’s Random Resources.
⚠️ This book contains war themes including gun & grenade use, injury, the murder of a Catholic priest, criticism of the Christian Faith & discussions of the Nazi regime & their intentions ⚠️
I’m super mad at myself because this is the only Doctor Who novel I’ve read this year that hasn’t just been released & normally I attempt to read at least one pre-published novel every month. It was a good read though & it’s made me eager to pick up some more of the old novels before the year is out.
⚠️ Violence & Death ⚠️
Arcane daggers. Mysterious Scrolls. A vengeful dark god determined
to end the world.
The soldiers of the shadow army are on the rise. The ancient deity Kashmeru has the Lotus empress under his control. It’s up to the elite mages of the Empire of the Lotus to put an end to the dark god’s course of death and destruction. But mage powers have been outlawed, and not all mages are free. As Mayhara evades the Imperial Police on her quest to gather the elite mages, Shiro must do what is necessary to escape the prison camp he’s been trapped in for years.
The collapse of the universe is at hand, and the pieces
of the puzzle must be put together before it’s too late.
