How to Make Friends with a Ghost by Rebecca Green

How to Make Friends with a GhostI intended to review How to Make Friends with a Ghost to with the children I work with, but as it turns out, it’s a little too mature for them. So, instead, I read this
myself before bed & absolutely loved it!

I was sent this book by Andersen Press in return for an honest review

How to Make Friends with a Ghost by Rebecca Green isn’t a story, it’s more of an information guide about, well… how to befriend ghosts! The book is full of funny & interesting tips on how to seek out a potential paranormal friend, how to look after your ghoulish pal & how to live out your life with your new bff. It’s charming & comical, & I (at the age of 23) absolutely loved it.

The drawing style is super unique & the cover was one of the things that really made me want the book – I haven’t see any other picture books that look this like this one & I love that. The ghost is so cute & the scenery in the backgrounds have a spooky feel but are still really adorable. I also loved watching our ghost’s friend grow up through the illustrations, & how much detail there is on every page.

I also really appreciate how much effort & thought has gone into this little book – some people think picture books are easy & basic, but How to Make Friends with a Ghost is proof that they really, really aren’t! It’s full of such lovely ideas & I smiled the whole way through; it also made me really laugh a few times as well.

I requested this book so I could read it to the children I work with, but after reading it I want to keep it all to myself so I can save it for my children… it’s such a lovely book to Add to goodreadslook at & so memorable. It’s even the first book on my 2019 favourites list!
