Maybe the Moon is a beautifully illustrated book about change – it tells the story of a young boy who, in the summer lives in the woods, but when winter comes, he must move to the city.
I was sent this book by the publisher in return for an honest review.

Maybe the Moon is truly a lovely little picture book that discusses how sad it can be to leave friends behind, whether that’s through leaving nursery & going to school, or moving house, but importantly it highlights that it’s okay to make new friends, & that new friends don’t mean that you have to lose your old ones. It’s a heartfelt story, that I really enjoyed, & the pages are full of gorgeous images that your eyes just can’t help but stare at.
I read this book to a group of 3- & 4-year-old nursery children & watching their faces take in all the illustrative detail on the page filled my heart with so much joy! At the end of the book we had a chat about how you can have as many friends as you like, & that having lots of friends, in different places, is the best thing ever! When I asked the children what the story was about one of the boys said “magical moonlight” & I adored that comment so much.
Please, please, please grab your little ones a copy of this book – it’s beautiful enough for me to know that you really won’t regret it!
