Sum-Up SundaysOctober

Ooooo my October Sum-Up is going up on time! Please tell me that you’re all very proud of me. Anyway, considering how shitty my mental health was for most of October I did quite well in terms of reading, which is fab. I also got the date for my bladder procedure & had my last session of hydrotherapy. Sam & I also booked a small trip to London for my birthday so that’s something to look forward to.

GoodReads Review

At the time of writing this I have sevenΒ reviews to write (The Land of Stone Flowers, The Impossible Girl, The Sisters of Winter Wood, XX, Dragonfly in Amber, The Women Who Lived & Braid of Sand)Β & I’m going to workΒ veryΒ hard to catch up on reviews by the end of the month – pray for me.

Reading Challenges

At the end of October we land at 66 out of 80 books, which is 83% through my challenge – at this rate I might actually just manage it! 🀞🏻

My Doctor Who Challenge:
Lets celebrate! I readΒ twoΒ Doctor Who books this month – & they were both phenomenal. I’m totally rating Jodie as the Doctor & reading the first novel with her as the Doctor was really fun. Juno Dawson did a fabulous job.

Page Count Challenge

  • January: 1908 pages
  • February: 2577 pages
  • March: 2237 pages
  • April:Β  1926 pages
  • May: 1953 pages
  • June: 1821 pages
  • July: 1215 pages
  • August: 2010 pages
  • September: 1729 pages
  • October: 2008 pages

I read so much more in October than I did in September, which is probably part of the reason my mental health has improved, bringing my page count for the year so far up toΒ 19,384 pages!

So I got the date through for my bladder procedure – it’s at the end of November… I feel kinda indifferent about having this procedure done again because it’s been done so many times but hopefully this should be the last time.

My mental health was bad in October, as it was in September, but toward the end of the month things began to improve a little & I’m now feeling a bit more like myself again. I’m still getting awful migraines though so I need to get my eyes re-tested & then go to see my GP about it – I genuinely wanted to cut my own skull open the other night & I know I can’t go on like this.

I also had my last hydrotherapy appointment during October; I’m sad that it’s over because I loved the support I got from the physios for my physical & my mental health, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to get a medical membership at the local hydrotherapy pool & disabled-friendly gym so that I can carry on the work I started at the hospital. Although, the pain toward the end was quite intense & I don’t miss aching all week.

Due to work & all my medical stuff my personal life has gone on hold a little, but Sam & I booked a trip to Winter Wonderland in London for my birthday & I’m really excited about that – especially as we’re going to the circus whilst we’re there!! Sam & I have never stayed in a hotel together before so I’m really looking forward to it.

So that’s it from me this month – this post has been written with a lot more positivity than the last two, & writing it has been enjoyable rather than a chore – hopefully this is the start of me getting my blog back under control. Thanks for sticking around.
