Sum-Up SundaysMay

May was a busy month in which I made some changes to the way I run my blog & was also a month where I had to pee in a jug. Despite these interesting events, the month definitely flew by, & I know this is being said a lot at the moment but, I cannot believe it’s June already! And yes, I know this post is late but I have my reasons.

Reading Challenges

GoodReads:
I managed to finish 7 books in May, taking my GoodReads challenge total up to 35 out of 80, or 44% – I’m edging closer to that half way mark I’m hoping I’ll get there before the end of the month… I’m currently only one book ahead of schedule (although I have a couple of children’s books to add to GoodReads so they can count towards my goal) so I need to work hard this month to try & get a few more books ahead of schedule again.

Beat the Backlist:
I committed a crime in May by not reading any of my Beat the Backlist books; for shame! During May reading has seemed difficult for me, as if I haven’t had enough time to do so, so I’ve been concentrating on reviewer’s copies rather than my personal reading goals (I currently have 8 reviewer’s copies to read that have already been released… oops). If you want to check out the books I have for my Beat the Backlist challenge you can find them here.

My Doctor Who Challenge:
Oh fiddlesticks! I seem to have missed out on this challenge as well during May; like I said, May was a bit of a mess in terms of reading. After I’ve finished the book I’m currently reading (Star of the North by D. B. John) I’m definitely picking up my next Doctor Who novel (by the time this goes up I should already be reading it).

Reviewer’s Copies:

~ Print:

~ E-Book:

During May I didn’t receive any reviewer’s copies in e-book form.

Page Count Challenge:

  • January: 1908 pages
  • February: 2577 pages
  • March: 2237 pages
  • April:  1926 pages
  • May: 1939 pages

Bringing my total so far this year to 10,875 pages – my goal for the whole year is 30,000!

Health

My health was pretty average over May; nothing that dramatic happened – although my urologist had me peeing in jugs & measuring how much I’m drinking because he’s trying to work out if I have a condition that’s making me drink more than I should, or one that’s making me produce more urine than I should. Yay. I had my general pains with my back over May, so there’s not much more to report.

Life

To be honest, there’s not much to say about my life this month… although I have ordered tickets for YALC (Friday AND Saturday) & I’ve also booked my hotel room for the night; I’m extremely worried about how I’ll react to sleeping in an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar part of London all on my own, but my hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the venue & didn’t cost me much at all, so I’m also excited. Excited but worried.

That’s about it from me right now; I know this post was late but May & the start of June have felt very messy so I’ve been rubbish at writing.
