So… that’s pretty bad – even if I do say so myself! In a year’s time I’m going to check back to this list to see how many more of these books I’ve bought & read; hopefully it’ll be a decent amount. I must admit though, there are a lot of books on the list that I’ve never actually heard of – although I do know some of the authors, even if I don’t know the titles. The first book in my favourite childhood series is on here though – The Enchanted Wood (The Magic Faraway Tree) by Enid Blyton – & there are a number of books that I plan to buy/read as well e.g. Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman & The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (the film was my boyfriend’s favourite childhood film). What about you? How many have you read?

You can find the American list here & the British list here.

    • Oh my goodness, that’s so good! And I know, I was really impressed that so many of the books aren’t old “classics” & that there’s a lot of variation among the authors too.

  1. My favorite books on this that you haven’t read are The Picture of Dorian Gray (magnificent), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (kickass), and My Man Jeeves (I love British situational humor). So, there’s an excuse to get 3 more books! 😉
