I have been putting off writing this review ever since I finished the book – for a good reason though, not a bad one. I really, really enjoyed this book & made hardly any reading notes so I’m totally lost on what to write. For that reason this is going to be a very loving mini review!
I received an eARC of this book from Disney-Hyperion in return for an honest review.
This book contains slavery, death, human suffering & bloody battle scenes.
I don’t usually write mini-reviews because I’m one of those people who ends up writing a lot more than they planned to – I was always going over word-counts during my education & always spent longer doing edits than I did the actual writing. The reason I’ve decided to keep this review short is for two reasons;
- I was so obsessed with reading this book that I made hardly any reading notes,
- I loved it so much that I’m struggling to say anything other than you must read this book!!!
As I’ve said, I really loved Rosemarked; it felt beautifully unique & I’ve never seen one part of the main plot ever used in another book! The story was so beautifully woven together & I loathed the times that I was forced to stop reading. The writing was also so good (reminded me a little of Sarah Delena White’s writing actually) & I can’t think of a single part of it that I didn’t like. The characters were also brilliant, as there was a lot of depth to them & they definitely kept me on my toes. There was a magical unpredictability about the plot & the characters that meant that I was never sure of what was going to happen next, something which every book should have. I also felt that the book was really well-paced & I was never bored whilst reading any of the scenes – even the battle ones.
If you’ve been putting off reading this book for whatever reason – put it off no longer! Pick it up & prepare to fall in love!
You can order yourself a copy of Rosemarked using the links below (it’s also my birthday soon so you should definitely consider sending me a print copy*)
